NMSU collapses late in loss to Niagara

NIAGARA, N.Y. (AP) -- Juan'Ya Green scored 28 points, Antoine Mason added 19 and Scooter Gillette scored eight of his 10 points during a key second half run to help Niagara rally and beat New Mexico State 86-83 Sunday.
New Mexico State (1-3) led 73-61 in the second half before Green hit two 3-pointers and Gillette made a layup to close the gap to 75-69.
Gillette's layup tied the game 78-all with 4:44 remaining and his dunk with 2:22 capped a 23-5 run and gave Niagara an 84-78 lead.
Green had eight points during the run.
New Mexico State, which led 48-31 at halftime, closed the gap to 84-83 and Niagara (2-2) missed two layups and a dunk over the final minute, but Daniel Mullings missed a layup of his own on the Aggies' second-to-last possession.
Mason drained two free throws with nine seconds left to seal the win.
