Everyone loves a mock draft, right?
OK, I don't, really, but since it's an NHL All-Star Game mock draft and I'm pretending to be Detroit Red Wings captain Nick Lidstrom (how cool would that be to be him for a day, or even a couple of hours?), I'll play.
My partner in this effort was FOXSportsSouth.com's John Manasso, playing the role of Eric Staal of the Carolina Hurricanes.
We did this over the phone, and he did the coin flip. I chose "heads," and it came up "tails." Already I'm a terrible Lidstrom. I'm sure he would have gotten that right. Oh, well, it's not like there won't be somebody good left at No. 2.
Alternate captains for Team Lidstrom are Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis and Chicago's Patrick Kane. Alternate captains assigned to Team Staal were Vancouver
