The Pelicans' current face of the franchise Anthony Davis will face off Tuesday night against the man who currently holds the franchise's record for most 20-point games at 193, David West, now the Indiana Pacers starting forward.

West played for New Orleans from 2003-2011, where he added his name to several pages of the record book. West is also ranked 2nd on the career list for total points (8,690) and rebounds (3,853), as well as third in blocked shots (435) and games played (530).

In those 8 seasons though, West arguably never meant to New Orleans what Davis has in just 2 ½ seasons.

The 21-year-old All Star is coming off of his second-best scoring effort of the season, a 38-point affair against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

West hasn't found much success versus Davis: he shot 36.8% for a total of 20 points in two matchups with Davis last season.

However, it isn't just West who will be focused on slowing Davis down at Banker's Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers may be struggling to score offensively, but their stingy, 4th ranked defense will be a telling litmus test for Davis and the Pelicans 13th ranked offense.

Indiana is holding opponents to 96.5 points per game, and Roy Hibbert will be looking to showcase his shot-blocking abilities. Davis currently ranks No. 1 in the NBA in blocked shots averaging 2.9 per game; Hibbert ranks 7th, averaging 2.0 blocks per game.
