LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) -- Troy Gillenwater scored 18 points and Gordo Castillo added 17 to lead New Mexico State to a 78-53 victory over San Jose State on Saturday.
Christian Kabongo added 14 points for the Aggies (10-9, 4-1 Western Athletic), who shot 48 percent from the floor, including 11 of 26 (42 percent) from 3-point range.
Keith Shamburger had 19 points for San Jose State (9-8, 1-5), which set a season-low for points in a game. Wil Carter added 14 points and Justin Graham 11.
New Mexico State led by as many as 20 in the first half and took a 35-18 lead into the break. San Jose State shot just 23 percent from the field and missed all 12 3-point attempts in the first half.
The Aggies outscored San Jose State 13-6 in the first four minutes of the second half to push the lead to 24.
New Mexico State outrebounded the Spartans 42-31 and received 42 points from its bench.
