LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) -- Andrew Manley threw for 367 yards and three touchdowns to lead New Mexico State to a 49-19 win over Sacramento State in the season opener for both teams.

Two of Manley's scoring strikes went to Austin Franklin, who finished with eight catches and 236 yards for the Aggies. The touchdowns covered 54 and 83 yards. Manley, who was 14 for 22, also connected with Jerrel Brown for a 50-yard score. Franklin recorded a career high 236 receiving yards.

Garrett Safron threw two touchdown passes for the Hornets, who trailed 28-3 but closed within 28-19 before New Mexico State scored three TDs in the fourth quarter. Safron finished with 308 yards passing for Sacramento State.

"It's a good win for us," Aggies head coach DeWayne Walker said. "There's still some things we have to fix on offense and defense for sure, but we can look at the tape because it's always easier to clean up your mistakes after wins."
