NBA Draft notes - still no clear No. 1 pick

CLEVELAND – A few news and notes heading into Thursday night's NBA Draft.
• As of Thursday morning, it was still unclear who the Cleveland Cavaliers will select with the No. 1 overall pick. It may be the first time in league history that's happened. But according to sources, three important people in the organization had three different opinions on which prospect fits best.
• Some reports said the Cavs had narrowed their choices to Kentucky center Nerlens Noel and Maryland center Alex Len. Those reports conflicted with FOX Sports Ohio sources, who said it's down to Len or Kansas shooting guard Ben McLemore.
• Outside sources also told FOX Sports Ohio that the Cavs remain very open to trading the pick. They may have to lower their demands if that's the case, according to those in the know.
• As FOX Sports Ohio reported last week, the Cavs and Dallas Mavericks have discussed a trade involving the Cavs' second-round picks (Nos. 31 and 33) and Mavs forward Shawn Marion and 13th overall pick. But the Mavs will not do the trade only for the Cavs' second-rounders, sources said. It is believed they want the Cavs' No. 19 pick, too.
• The Mavericks have also spoken to the Sacramento Kings about the 13th pick, sources said.
• The Cavs also were in discussions with the Brooklyn Nets on a potential swap of Cavs swingman C.J. Miles for the Nets' 22nd pick. Those talks were said to have died down Thursday.
• Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is admittedly a fan of Indiana guard Victor Oladipo. But Gilbert has never ordered his preference on general manager Chris Grant. The owner leaves the decision-making to the basketball people.
• As of late Wednesday night, sources said the Cavs were having discussions involving the Nos. 19, 31 and 33 picks, and a player, with an undetermined team.
• The Portland Trail Blazers are supposedly open to moving power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. They are said to be seeking two first-rounders and a player in return.
