NAU soccer hosts Big Sky foes Idaho State, Weber State

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- The Northern Arizona women's soccer team is home for two Big Sky Conference games this weekend against Idaho State and Weber State. Both games will be televised by FOX Sports Arizona.
The Lumberjacks (5-2-3, 1-0-0 Big Sky) opened conference play with a 3-2 double-overtime win on the road against Southern Utah, securing the victory on a 40-yard goal by sophomore midfielder Nicole Sherwin. NAU has already matched last season's victory total, and its 14 goals is twice the total it had after 10 games a year ago. Sophomore Haley Wingender and freshman Lindsay Doyle have three goals each to lead the Lumberjacks in scoring.
The homestand begins on 7 p.m. Friday against Idaho State (4-5-1, 1-0-1), which was chosen by coaches in the preseason poll as the Big Sky favorite. The Bengals defeated the Lumberjacks 2-1 last season in Pocatello, Idaho.
On Sunday at noon, NAU hosts early season Big Sky leader Weber State (6-2-2, 2-0-0). The Lumberjacks scored a 1-0 victory over the Wildcats last season in Ogden, Utah. Led by senior goalkeeper Ryann Waldman, Weber State has given up a conference-low 0.85 goals per game.
