LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) -- Daniel Mullins scored four crucial points in the final 48 seconds and led New Mexico State with 19 points in an 89-86 victory over Cal State Bakersfield on Thursday night.

The Aggies (16-7, 5-2 Western Athletic Conference) outscored the Roadrunners 47-36 at the break before CSUB mounted a second-half comeback.

Cal State Bakersfield (8-13, 1-6) outscored NMSU 50-42 in the second period, and a 13-0 Roadrunners run that ended with 5 minutes to play gave CSUB a 80-74 lead.

The Aggies took their turn and scored six unanswered points to go ahead 81-80. Mullins then scored on a layup, and two free throws wrapped around a Sim Bhullar free throw put NMSU up 88-84. That turned out to be all the Aggies needed.
