Mound musings: Second half reports

Pitcher analysis is an ever-evolving endeavor, with sites such as Baseball Prospectus and Fangraphs providing a good portion of the sort of cutting-edge analysis fantasy leaguers are increasingly tapping into. With the exception of your home and office leagues in which perhaps a few owners aren't nearly as versed in K/9, xERA, DERA, etc., as others, owners have moved well-beyond ERA and W/L record as predictors of future success. We know a pitcher with 10 wins and a 3.22 ERA has had a good season to date, but what if his K/9 is just 4.1 and HR/FB rate sits at 3.5 percent vs. an 11.1 percent career mark? Some opportunity for regression in his fantasy stats perhaps? By the way, we're talking about Joel Pineiro here if you haven't already figured that out.
