Second-year forward Markieff Morris had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead the Suns to a 99-74 victory over the Knicks in NBA Summer League action in Las Vegas on Sunday.

Morris had 10 of his 21 points in the first quarter as the Suns (1-0) jumped out to a 27-18 lead. DeShawn Sims had 16 points and Marcus Landry and Erving Walker added 12 apiece for the Suns. Walker was perfect on all five of his field-goal attempts, including a pair from 3-point range. As a team, the Suns were 10 of 21 on 3-pointers.

Point guard Diatne Garrett contributed eight points and 10 assists.

Morris told suns.com that he's more confident and comfortable in his offensive skills than as a rookie, when he averaged 7.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game: "I just take my time and let the game come to me. I just think that I can get whatever I want, and if I can keep that confidence up then it will be good for my game,” Morris said.

First-round draft pick Kendall Marshall signed his contract Sunday and is expected to join the Suns team in time for its next game on Tuesday against the Cavaliers.
