When Monta Ellis hasn't shot the ball well, the Dallas Mavericks have lost their first round playoff games against the San Antonio Spurs.

Ellis was 6 of 20 from the field Monday night and the Mavs fell 93-89, allowing the visiting Spurs to tie the best-of-seven series at two games apiece.

How did Dallas' starting shooting guard think he played in Game 4?

"It wasn't good enough," said Ellis, who was 2 of 8 from the field in the first half. "I didn't shoot the ball well. I think I came out a little stagnant. I wasn't aggressive like I was in the second half."

Ellis finished with a team-high 20 points but he wasn't as efficient as he has been the previous two games.

The eight-year veteran was 12 of 22 in a 109-108 Game 3 victory and 8 of 20 in Game 2, a 113-92 Mavs win.
