New York 1 – D.C. United 0

Lloyd Sam slotted home in the 90th minute to give the Red Bulls a precious win over 10-man United in Harrison. The visitors played down a man for nearly an hour after Fabian Espindola received a suspect red card for an aerial challenge on Dax McCarty, but they held firm for most of it against a New York outfit short of ideas. Bill Hamid led the resistance until the waning moments when Sam floated free from his marker and poked home to send the home side above the red line.

Montréal 2 – LA Galaxy 2

A spirited second-half comeback powered the Galaxy to a point at Stade Saputo. Montréal took firm control over the proceedings before the break. Marco Di Vaio opened the scoring before the half-hour before Ignacio Piatti doubled the lead after 43 minutes. The in-form Galaxy responded after the interval through Gyasi Zardes’ 15th goal of the campaign just before the hour. Alan Gordon then turned home the equalizer five minutes later to give the visitors a share of the spoils.

Vancouver 2 – San Jose 0

Pedro Morales and Kendall Waston sparked the Whitecaps to a vital home victory over the Earthquakes at B.C. Place. Morales ended Vancouver’s protracted scoring drought six minutes before halftime by converting a penalty procured by Waston. The burly center back then registered the second after 56 minutes by eluding Victor Bernárdez and nodding home Morales’ precise corner kick. The home side saw out the remainder of the affair to secure its second victory in 11 attempts.
