MLS Roundup: Adi delivers for Portland, TFC and Impact draw in Canadian Championship

Chivas USA 0 - Portland 2
Portland extended its unbeaten run to six matches with a second-half double from Fanendo Adi at the StubHub Center. Both teams labored through much of this affair, but the Timbers produced two moments of genuine quality to settle the encounter. Adi opened the scoring after 65 minutes by turning home Jorge Villafana's inviting cross from close range. The on-loan FC København striker doubled his haul six minutes later with an intelligent run behind the line and a smooth finish to secure the points. Bobby Burling procured a red card in the late stages to cap a miserable night for the home side in front of the sparse crowd in Carson, Calif.
Toronto FC 1 - Montréal 1 - Canadian Championship final, first leg
Justin Mapp curled home a sumptuous equalizer to punctuate the Impact's second-half revival and snatch a result at BMO Field. TFC opened the better of the two sides and struck through a set piece after 20 minutes to consolidate its superiority. Doneil Henry created separation inside the penalty area and nodded home Daniel Lovitz's corner kick to hand the Reds a firm foothold in the match. Montréal improved substantially after the interval and pegged TFC back when Mapp fired home after 73 minutes. The late riposte restored parity in the tie ahead of the second leg at Stade Saputo next Wednesday.
