MLB power rankings: Swap at the top

1 Athletics 42-27 +1
Josh Donaldson has a team-leading 17 home runs and 50 RBI entering the week but has seen his batting average drop after slumping the past two weeks, resulting in a slide down to sixth in the batting order Sunday.
2 Giants 43-27 -1
San Francisco finished its 10-game home stand going 4-6, including getting swept by the Rockies on three straight late-game meltdowns. Despite the bad week, the Giants still hold a decent lead in the NL West.
3 Brewers 41-29 +1
The Brewers are still playing good baseball to keep the lead in the NL Central, but the Cardinals are hot on their tails.
4 Blue Jays 41-30 -1
After making a blockbuster deal prior to '13 and falling flat, the Blue Jays made the right moves this offseason to put themselves in position to be the class of the AL East.
5 Cardinals 37-32
The Cardinals swept the Nationals over the weekend as they continue to sneak closer to the Brewers in the NL Central, but Adam Wainwright skipping a start Monday has the team concerned a bit.
6 Angels 37-31
Taking two of three against the A's to begin the week, the Angels are doing everything right to put themselves in position to challenge Oakland for first place in the AL West.
7 Tigers 36-29
Hard to believe, but Max Scherzer, who already has a Cy Young Award to his name, notched the first complete game of his career against the White Sox Thursday.
8 Yankees 35-33 +6
Mark Teixeira has been battling injuries but still enters the week with 11 home runs and 32 RBI.
9 Orioles 35-33 +4
Baltimore enters the week just a few games back of Toronto in the AL East but has the pitching to make the jump to first if the Blue Jays should stumble at some point.
10 Dodgers 37-34 +2
Adrian Gonzalez has been slumping as of late, entering the week with a .252 average, but still leads the Dodgers with 12 homers and 40 RBI.
11 Nationals 35-33 -2
Ian Desmond's power numbers are impressive, with 13 home runs and 42 RBI in 67 games, but his average isn't exactly on par with his other stats -- he's hitting .233 so far this season.
12 Braves 36-32 -2
The Braves weren't able to capitalize on off-weeks from the Marlins and Nationals but still hold a close lead in the NL East.
13 Mariners 35-34 -5
Just when the Mariners looked to be turning the corner, they pile up a five-game losing streak.
14 Rockies 34-35 +3
Brandon Barnes hit his second inside-the-park home run of the season Saturday to hand the Rockies a walk-off win over the Giants, part of a three-game sweep of the NL West leaders.
15 Marlins 35-33 -4
When Jose Fernandez went down for the season, Miami could have fallen off the map. However these Marlins have yet to fade away and are right in the thick of the NL East race.
16 Royals 36-32 +3
Last week, the Indians were second in the AL Central and knocking on the Tigers' door, now it's the Royals' turn as they enter the week riding a seven-game winning streak.
17 Rangers 34-35 -1
Still hovering around the .500 mark and sitting at eight games behind the A's in the AL West, the Rangers' next few weeks will determine whether they will be buyers or sellers at next month's trade deadline.
18 Indians 35-35 -3
Lonnie Chisenhall became the first player in MLB history to have five hits, three homers and nine RBI in five plate appearances.
19 Pirates 34-35 +3
Vance Worley had a successful debut for the Pirates Sunday, allowing just five hits and striking out five. Pittsburgh is hoping he can be the pitcher he was in 2011-12 with the Phillies.
20 Reds 33-35 -2
Cincinnati's offense has struggled often this season, but a season-high 13 runs against the Brewers Sunday should give the Reds a much-needed jolt of confidence.
21 White Sox 33-37 -1
The White Sox are struggling to get over the .500 hump. After reaching the mark for the 21st time Wednesday in a win over Detroit, Chicago dropped four straight to fall back once again.
22 Twins 32-35 +1
Trevor Plouffe, the Twins' RBI leader entering the week, was placed on the 15-day disabled list after being injured while attempting to make a diving stop Saturday.
23 Mets 31-38 -2
Despite being in a 2-for-39 slump at the plate, perennial fan-favorite David Wright continues to lead in the NL All-Star voting at third base.
24 Astros 32-39
The rookie duo of George Springer and Jon Singleton has brought the level of play in Houston up a notch in recent weeks.
25 Red Sox 31-38 +1
Stephen Drew is off to a rough start after re-signing late with the Red Sox -- hitting .167 with one RBI in five games. The shortstop's two-hit afternoon Sunday could mean he is turning the corner.
26 Diamondbacks 30-42 -1
Brandon McCarthy took another loss Wednesday against the Astros, dropping his season record to 1-9 and raising his ERA to 5.29 heading into Monday's start against the Brewers.
27 Padres 29-40
The Padres' lineup continues to sit at the bottom of most offensive categories as the team struggled through another tough week at the plate.
28 Cubs 28-39

29 Phillies 29-38
Saturday, Jimmy Rollins collected his 2,235th of his career, setting the Phillies hit record previously held by Hall of Fame third baseman Mike Schmidt.
30 Rays 27-43
With Sunday's win over the Astros, the Rays broke a streak of five consecutive series losses. Tampa Bay heads home this week for a 10-game home stand as it attempts to climb out of its big slump.
