Mizzou's Johnson earns SEC freshman of the week honors

Johnathon Johnson did a little bit of everything for the Tigers on Saturday and was rewarded Monday with the distinction of SEC freshman of the week.
Johnson, a redshirt freshman from Memphis, tallied 210 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in Missouri's 61-21 over Eastern Michigan. He became the first Football Bowl Subdivision player with a punt-return touchdown, receiving touchdown and 100 receiving yards in an FBS game since 2001, according to data from Sports-Reference.com.
Johnson's 54-yard score in the second quarter was Mizzou's first punt-return touchdown since Marcus Murphy in 2014 at Florida. It was Mizzou's first special teams touchdown since Aarion Penton returned a blocked punt for a score in Mizzou's season opener against Southeast Missouri last season.
Later in the quarter, Johnson took a screen pass from quarterback Drew Lock and ran 87 yards to a touchdown -- Mizzou's longest passing play from scrimmage since L'Damian Washington scored a 96-yard TD against South Carolina in 2013.
