Missouri's Ray ejected from SEC title game for blow to Alabama's Sims

In all likelihood, Shane Ray is going to be the SEC Defensive Player of the Year. But if No. 16 Missouri can knock off top-ranked Alabama in the conference championship game, it's going to have to be without its best player.
The defensive end was ejected after a late hit to the head of Crimson Tide quarterback Blake Sims after he threw a 58-yard touchdown pass to DeAndrew White in the second quarter to give Alabama a 14-0 lead here Saturday at the Georgia Dome.
Ray led the league with 13 1/2 regular-season sacks as a junior -- to pace a unit that is tied for sixth in FBS with 3.33 a game -- and was in on another in the first quarter as he and Lucas Vincent hit Sims for a six-yard loss.
