Minor leaguers share Rays' commitment to community service

With their themed road trips and plaid playoff hats, the Tampa Bay Rays have never really been ones to follow typical baseball protocol. So, it's fitting that they don't actually take the offseason completely 'off.'

Some of the Rays spotted practicing at Tropicana Field on Wednesday included pitchers David Price, James Shields and J.P. Howell and outfielder Matt Joyce.

And spring training is still a good five weeks away.
