Minnesota's Banham wins college 3-point contest

You can add another accolade to Rachel Banham's already impressive list: 3-point contest champion.
Banham, who recently completed her Gophers career as the program's all-time leading scorer, won the overall 3-point competition at Thursdays College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships in Cypress, Texas.
The Lakeville, Minn., native defeated Army's Kelsey Minato in the women's finals and defeated the winner of the men's contest, Adam Smith of Georgia Tech, in the overall finals.
Banham, a well-known fan of Kobe Bryant, included a tribute to her idol in her uniform for the event, wearing socks that featured Bryant's jersey number.

A first-team All-American and the Big Ten Player of the Year this past season, Banham finished her five-year career with Minnesota with the sixth-point points in NCAA history with 3,093. She tied the NCAA single-game scoring record this season with a 60-point game against Northwestern and set multiple Gophers scoring records.
Banham is projected to be a first-round pick in the WNBA Draft on April 14.
