Minnesota's
NCAA Tournament hopes took a severe hit as they fell to Penn State on
the road 66-63 Thursday night. The Golden Gophers slipped to 6-8 in Big
Ten play and needs to win three of their final four games to finish .500
in conference action.

Minnesota fell to 17-9 overall and 6-8 in
conference action as they have won just once in their last six games.
The team has continued to struggle without senior point guard Al Nolen,
who was also their top defender. Penn State kept their slim NCAA
Tournament chances alive as they improved to 7-7 in the conference and
14-11 overall.
