We've had some good conversation around Sam Amico's article on how the NBA playoffs just aren't the same due to all the high-profile injuries around the league.
Guest commenter Mike takes home the prize (internet fame, worldwide recognition) today with his comment on why the NBA has gotten so "chippy" of late:
I will say that Noah is trying to instigate things. In certain ways the current system of NBA ball encourages this type of play. Many years ago guys like Willis Reed or Mo Lucas would have seriously damaged anyone who would have taken cheap shots at them. Since that style of play is gone with the wind it probably encourages guys to be chippy, since they know that a monster like Reed will not break their face.
