Mike Shanahan jokes about playing Robert Griffin III in preseason

By Ross Jones, FOXSports.com Anyone who thought there was a possible rift between Mike Shanahan and Robert Griffin III were silenced Monday during the Redskins’ preseason action against the Steelers. ESPN cameras caught Shanahan joking with Griffin on the sideline, asking if the quarterback wanted to go in. When Griffin jumped at the opportunity, Shanahan put the brakes on No. 10. One of the most popular debates this preseason — which has been beaten to death — is if the Redskins should allow Griffin to play before the regular season. Shanahan has been adamant that his quarterback will not participate in any action, but Griffin has still expressed interest in playing. From the looks of Griffin’s new t-shirt, it’s evident that he has bought into his coach’s philosophy and will be patient in returning from his torn ACL and MCL.
