Michigan State's Bullough: 'I made a mistake'

Michigan State linebacker Max Bullough broke his silence Saturday, but he wouldn't discuss the reason he was suspended for the Rose Bowl.

"I made a mistake," Bullough told reporters at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. "I let down my teammates. I let down my coaches I let down my family.

"But right now I'm moving forward."

Bullough said NFL clubs are aware of the reason for his suspension.

"I've talked to all the NFL teams," he said. "They all know the issue."

He repeatedly refused to elaborate on that issue when pressed by reporters.

"NFL teams are a different discussion than sitting here at a media table," he said. "They're all aware of the situation."

The Spartans overcame the absence of Bullough, a senior captain, to upset Stanford on New Year's Day.
