Michigan director of football operations suspended after DUI arrest

Jim Minick's first exposure to most Michigan fans came when he helped Jim Harbaugh assist injured victims of a car accident in March.
His second time in the headlines isn't going to be as pleasant.
Minick, Harbaugh's director of football operations, has been suspended indefinitely by the university after being arrested last weekend on suspicion of DUI.
"Jim Minick made a regrettable decision last week and was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated," Harbaugh said Wednesday in a statement. "Jim makes no excuses, regrets this decision and understands the consequences of his actions. Due to the serious nature of this event, Jim Minick has been suspended indefinitely, and we ask for your understanding while we address the situation."
Minick was arrested in Pittsfield Township early Saturday morning. Police told FOX 2 that they were called to the scene of a single-car accident, and while Minick originally told them he had crashed while avoiding another car, he was asked to take a breathalyzer test.
When the retired Marine Corps colonel refused, the officers took a blood sample and arrested him. Results from the blood test will be back next week.
"I'm not going to make any excuses," Minick told FOX 2. "I'll face the consequences of my actions. I regret the difficult position in which this has put my family and my employer."
