Just weeks after his rookie season with the Detroit Tigers' season concluded, Michael Fulmer is on to his second job as a plumber, according to the Detroit Free Press.
"He was in backyards around the Oklahoma City area digging ditches and changing sewer lines” Anthony Fenech reports. “Replacing old Orangeburg pipes with new PVC pipes. In basements exchanging water heaters, in kitchens replacing sinks and faucets, in bathrooms fixing leaky toilets."
It's not Fulmer's first time working in the industry as he joined friend's uncle's business after the 2015 season. Fulmer is coming off a season in which he posted an 11–7 record with a 3.06 ERA and 132 strikeouts.
Fulmer has a chance of winning the American League Rookie of the Year award on Monday night. He better wipe the grease off his hands before he picks up the trophy.
