Miami University honored former Hamilton Journal-News and Oxford Press sports writer Pete Conrad at Saturday's game at Yager Stadium against Cincinnati.
Conrad passed away on March 4 of this year at the age of 56. He was a 1978 graduate of Miami and covered the RedHawks and other sports throughout the Miami Valley area for more than three decades.
A memorial plaque in honor of Conrad was placed in the Yager Stadium press box and a video tribute was shown at the end of the first quarter.
