McCarron responds to Dockett with barbs
Jan. 10, 2013
Darnell Dockett made news earlier in the week when he tweet-hit on Katherine Webb, now widely known as Miss Alabama, the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron and the darling of ESPN's national championship game coverage. Here are the original tweets, which have since been deleted:
@_KatherineWebb
aye u going to king of diamonds Monday after
game?
Aye @_KatherineWebb
hit me (240) 464-xxxx when game over, lets go to
wing stop then King of diamond
Somewhat unsurprisingly, McCarron wasn't a big fan of Dockett's very public offer to take his lovely lady out for some dinner and a night at a gentleman's club. He responded via Twitter with a shot at Dockett and the Cardinals:
While the "better stop eating them wings" line was probably tongue-in-cheek -- it's doubtful Dockett's apparent love for Wing Stop has ever affected his on-field performance -- the back-to-back references to worrying about winning and/or playoff appearances weren't exactly thinly veiled.
But wait; there's more. Dockett took the "betterkeepdreaming" hashtag to heart, following up the above sequence with the following tweet (click the embedded link to view the photo Dockett's commenting on):
Aye babe I know I know.@_katherinewebb ill be there shortly! lockerz.com/s/275364265

Alas, with no response from McCarron and no other tweets back in forth in the past 36 hours, it appears that this entertaining Twitter war might be over.
