ATLANTA (AP) -- Atlanta Braves catcher Brian McCann says he has a cyst and a frayed labrum in his right shoulder.

Even so, McCann is upset he's not starting for the second straight game.

McCann said Saturday that a recent MRI showed a cyst is pressing on his shoulder joint, causing discomfort. He says he is able to "do all the things I need to do to play" but may have to address the problem after the season.

David Ross is starting on Saturday night against the Dodgers for the second straight game. Manager Fredi Gonzalez says he plans for McCann to start on Sunday.

McCann, a career .280 hitter and six-time All-Star, is hitting only .229 but he has 18 homers and 57 RBIs.
