Mayors betting barbecue ribs on Alabama-Texas A&M

SEC West, and potentially BCS, title hopes are on the line as No. 1 Alabama and No. 6 Texas A&M meet Saturday in College Station. But city leaders are literally adding some more flavor to the matchup.
If the Crimson Tide win, mayor Walt Maddox will send ribs from Dreamland BBQ and Alabama gear to the mayors of College Station (Nancy Berry) and Bryan, Texas (Jason Bienski). The Texas leaders will have to wear the 'Bama clothing while eating the ribs and, of course, a photographer will be on hand to capture it all.
But if it's the Aggies who are victorious, Maddox will be the one eating Texas ribs while sporting A&M threads.
This isn't the first time that Maddox has wagered barbecue on a game.
Before the 2011 BCS title game vs. LSU, Maddox bet Kip Holden, the mayor of Baton Rouge, that he would send over three gallons of barbecue sauce if the Tigers won. But, of course, it was the Tide who claimed the title and Maddox received three gallons of sauce from Raising Cane's, a Baton Rouge chicken chain.
A year ago, Johnny Manziel and the Aggies won 29-24 in Tuscaloosa. It would be the Tide's only loss as they went on to win their second straight national championship.
