Mavs reportedly interested in reacquiring Harris

Harris, who turns 28 on Sunday, played the first 3-1/2 seasons of his career in Dallas before being shipped to New Jersey as part of a deal for fellow point guard Jason Kidd. Now, the Mavericks are casting an eye toward bringing him back as the team searches for ways to add offense to a roster that sits 15th in points per game.
Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the most plausible scenario is a three-way deal between the Mavs, Denver, and New Jersey in which Dallas would send Caron Butler's expiring salary to Denver and land Harris. Denver would ship Raymond Felton and Timofey Mozgov, both newly acquired in the Carmelo Anthony trade, to the Nets.
Dallas isn't alone in the hunt for Harris, though. Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears reports that Portland is also in the mix to acquire Harris, and the Atlanta Journal Constitution says the Hawks covet the point guard, as well.
Then there's the matter of just how interested the Mavericks truly are. Although Harris would provide a punch on offense as well as a sorely needed option to defend quick point guards, Dallas is in much less need of another body in their loaded backcourt
