Mavs' Carlisle: Popovich should be 'Coach of the Century'

The San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks have a long-heated NBA rivalry.
While the fans take this in-state battle seriously, the coaches and players have the utmost respect for what each franchise has accomplished.
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was named the NBA's Coach of the Year on Monday, but Mavs coach Rick Carlisle believes that's not enough.
"Why don't we just give him Coach of the Century?" Carlisle told the Dallas Morning News. "I mean, he's the greatest. Obviously very well-deserved. [The Spurs] were almost a wire-to-wire top seed in the league. And he's the best."
Carlisle isn't too bad himself. He was the league's coach of the year in 2002 when he was with the Detroit Pistons, and won an NBA Championship with the Mavs in 2011.
The Texas rivalry continues this year in the first round of the playoffs with the top-seeded Spurs a heavy favorite over the Mavs.
