Marquette releases prized recruit Noskowiak from Letter of Intent

Marquette's top-10 recruiting class took a bit of a hit Friday when the school announced it had granted Nick Noskowiak a release from his National Letter of Intent, which he signed back in November.
Noskowiak, considered one of the top-10 point guards in the class of 2015, originally committed the Golden Eagles under Buzz Williams, but re-affirmed his decision shortly after Steve Wojciechowski was hired.
But months later, Noskowiak is now free to sign elsewhere other than another Big East school, as per league rule, after requesting his release from Marquette.
"After a discussion with Nick, we decided it was best for our program, and for Nick personally, to explore other options and wish him the best of luck as he continues his basketball career," Wojciechowski said in a release.
Noskowiak averaged 23.7 points per game at Sun Prairie High School as a junior and was averaging 25 points per game this year before leaving the team due to a bout with depression.
The 6-foot-5 guard recently returned to Sun Prairie after missing 11 games.
Marquette still has an impressive incoming class, including forward Henry Ellenson, one of the top recruits in the country.
With the release of Noskowiak, Marquette now has four available scholarships for next year.
