Injured Miami Marlins right-hander Henderson Alvarez was moved to the 60-day disabled list Tuesday after second baseman Donovan Solano was put on the 15-day DL with a rib injury. Solano missed three straight games with an intercostal issue before being put on the DL following Monday night’s loss at San Diego. Alvarez, acquired in the offseason from Toronto, went on the disabled list with right shoulder inflammation the day before the season opener. He isn’t expected to join the Marlins until shortly before the All-Star break. Solano was batting .278 with 1 homer and 5 RBI in 30 games. The Marlins purchased Nick Green’s contract from Triple-A New Orleans (Pacific Coast League). Green hit .321 with 1 homer and 3 RBI in 8 games with Miami earlier this season.
