MIAMI (AP) -- Chase Utley's bat is drawing more attention than his knees.
Utley's go-ahead triple in the 10th inning off Jon Rauch led the Phillies over Miami 3-1 Friday night and dropped the Marlins to 1-9.
Utley is hitting .316 with two homers and 10 RBIs, reaching base in all 10 games. He was bothered by knee problems the previous two years and didn't make his first appearance of 2012 until June 27.
"I'm pleased that I'm starting the season, that's for sure," Utley said. "We're starting to play better baseball. Swinging the bats better. The weather is warming up. I think it's going to be a fun summer."
John Lannan gave up one run and three hits in six innings.
"He's back to the Chase that's wreaked havoc in my games against the Phillies," Lannan said. "It's good to be on this side of it. I'm just glad to see he's out there playing every day."
Miami is off to the poorest start by a big league team since Baltimore and Houston lost nine of their first 10 games in 2010, according to STATS. The Marlins, held to four singles by Lannan and four relievers, are batting .209 with just two home runs and 15 extra-base hits.
"We have to keep grinding, get on the other side of this thing and get that confidence back," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said.
Ben Revere singled with one out in the 10th and Utley tripled into the right-field corner. Ryan Howard was intentionally walked, and Michael Young hit a hard grounder up the middle that shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria gloved with a dive. He flipped the ball to second baseman Donovan Solano, who missed stepping on the base as Utley scored on the infield hit.
Utley missed a home run when he a pulled a 3-1 fastball from Rauch (0-1) far foul. He then jumped on a hanging changeup, with Revere running on the pitch.
Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton was a late scratch with a sore left shoulder. He said he will undergo an MRI Saturday and could miss several games.
Phillippe Aumont (1-0) pitched a scoreless ninth for his first major league win, and Jonathan Papelbon finished for his second save with a scoreless 10th.
The crowd of 17,923 was up from 13,810 Wednesday, a record low for Marlins Park, which opened last year.
Ricky Nolasco, at $11.5 million the only high-salaried Marlins player to survive an offseason payroll purge, allowed one run and seven hits in six innings.
Doubles by Howard and Domonic Brown put the Phillies ahead in the sixth. Miami ended a 15-inning scoreless streak in the bottom half when Juan Pierre was hit by a pitch and scored on a two-out single by Placido Polanco.
