Marlins claim left-hander Matt Tracy off waivers from Yankees

The Miami Marlins claimed left-hander Matt Tracy off waivers from the New York Yankees on Saturday afternoon.
Tracy, who gave up three unearned runs in two innings in his big-league debut with the Yankees this season, was optioned by the Marlins to Triple-A New Orleans. He is 20-22 with a 3.81 ERA in 78 games (64 starts) in the minors.
The 26-year-old southpaw provides depth after the organization lost Aaron Crow to Tommy John surgery. David Phelps, the club's long reliever, is in the rotation as Henderson Alvarez works back from right shoulder and elbow inflammation.
Miami also transferred ace Jose Fernandez to the 60-day disabled list. He continues to rehab from Tommy John surgery.
