Kansas junior Marcus Morris was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week after earning most valuable player honors at the Las Vegas Invitational last weekend, the conference office announced today.

Morris led the Jayhawks (6-0) to three victories last week, as KU posted wins over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Ohio and Arizona.

The junior forward averaged 18.0 points and 7.3 rebounds, while shooting 62.5 percent (20-of-32) from the field. He shot at least 50 percent in each outing, while also connecting on 3-of-6 from 3-point range during the week.

The junior college transfer from Central Florida Community College had 10.7 points and 12.0 rebounds per game in his three outings, including a season-high 14 rebounds in the victory over La Salle.
