Malcom Floyd 'fine' after being taken to hospital following scary kick
By Ross Jones, FOXSports.com Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd was taken off on a stretcher and left Lincoln Financial Field in an ambulance after being sandwiched between two defenders in the third quarter of the Chargers-Eagles game. Floyd, who was trying to haul in a reception, collided with linebacker DeMeco Ryans while safety Nate Allen had him secured from the back. The seventh-year receiver moved his legs and fingers after doctors rolled him onto his back. The hit was not flagged as Ryans led with his shoulder, as opposed to his head. Head coach Mike McCoy said that Floyd was "fine" after the game and reportedly will fly back to San Diego with the team. Every Chargers player and nearly every Eagles player came off the sideline and went onto the field before Floyd was immobilized and wheeled off. The Chargers receiving corps is thin as they only dressed four players at the position, including Floyd. Eddie Royal stepped up in his absence catching three touchdown passes.
