BENGALURU, India (AP) An unbeaten 49 from 29 balls by Mahmudullah enabled Bangladesh to post a respectable 156-5 against Australia in the World Twenty20 Group 2 encounter at the Chinnaswamy stadium on Monday night,

Put into bat, Bangladesh was reduced to 25 for 2 in the seventh over, Shane Watson doing the damage. He first had Soumya Sarkar caught at point and then claimed Sabbir Rahman.

A 32-run partnership for the third wicket between Mohammad Mithun and Shakib Al Hassan steadied the innings.


The introduction of leg spinner Adam Zampa once again tilted the game in Australia's favour as he claimed three wickets, the batsmen unable to read his leg breaks.

Mahmudullah pllundered runs in his 49, hitting seven fours and a six.

Along with Shakib Al Hasan he added 22 for the fifth wicket before using tailenders to take the team past the 150 mark.
