Magic's Victor Oladipo day-to-day with sprained MCL in right knee

The Orlando Magic will be without Victor Oladipo for their preseason opener Tuesday night at Miami after the second-year guard sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
The injury happened during a scrimmage Friday, one day after forward Channing Frye suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee. Oladipo completed the scrimmage but had an MRI done on the knee Saturday.
It's unclear how much time Oladipo, the Magic's first-round pick a year ago, will miss.
"It's day-by-day," Oladipo said Monday. "Just depends on how I feel and respond to treatment. But I finished practice (on Friday) though, so that's a good sign."
In addition to Oladipo and Frye, veteran guard Willie Green will not play against the Heat because of a hyperextended left knee. The absences of Oladipo and Green are expected to mean an increase in minutes in the week ahead for rookie Elfrid Payton and two veterans signed in July, Ben Gordon and Luke Ridnour.
"It's not ideal and we'd love to have all 15 guys ready to rock and roll, participating and learning each other, but that's not where we are," Vaughn said. "But you know we won’t complain and we'll keep this thing rolling."
After facing the Heat, the Magic will play Friday night at Indiana and next Monday night at Charlotte. Their preseason home opener is Oct. 15 against Flamengo, a team from Brazil.
