Magic suspend Glen Davis for two games

Glen "Big Baby" Davis, a reserve power forward for the Orlando Magic, was suspended by the team for two games on Friday for "conduct detrimental to the team."
Magic general manager Otis Smith did not elaborate on the reason for Davis' suspension in a statement released by the team, but the Orlando Sentinel reported that Davis' suspension was a result of an outburst by Davis during Friday morning's shootaround.
Davis will miss the Magic's home game against Cleveland on Friday night and road game against Indiana on Saturday. He will return for Orlando's home game Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Magic acquired Davis in December along with reserve guard Von Wafer as part of a sign-and-trade deal that sent power forward Brandon Bass to the Boston Celtics. In 22 Magic games this season, Davis has averaged 7.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in 22.3 minutes.
Davis, who won a championship with the Celtics in 2008, has struggled to adjust to his role in Orlando and expressed displeasure on multiple occasions about his role, saying he expected to become a starter.

After a recent loss to Boston, Davis hinted he might even regret leaving the Celtics.
"I'm in the same situation I was in (before), coming off the bench," Davis said. "The only thing I know is that I got paid a little bit more money. It's a process that I've got to get used to. I know what I'm supposed to do, but I'm still searching."
Orlando has struggled of late, as well, having lost seven of its last 10 games — including two losses to Davis' former team, the Celtics. The Magic have averaged just 84.2 points per game over that span.
In one of those games, a home loss to the Spurs on Jan. 18, Davis made national headlines when he received a technical foul after pulling down his shorts while arguing a foul call with an official.
With Davis out of the picture, the Magic will rely on reserve forwards Earl Clark and Quentin Richardson to pick up the slack. Rookie forward Justin Harper and second-year big man Daniel Orton also could get playing time in Davis' absence.
