The Orlando Magic did not catch LeBron James, Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh on what anyone could describe as an off-night for the Miami Heat's Big Three.
The Heat encountered very few obstacles on their way to sweeping the four-game season series between the two teams as they shot 58.1 percent from the floor in posting a 112-98 victory. James, Wade and Bosh went 23 of 34 between them and combined for 61 points, even though Bosh was the only one of the three to play at all in the fourth quarter.
There were some bright spots for the Magic. Tobias Harris had 20 points, Nikola Vucevic overcame early foul trouble to finish with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Kyle O'Quinn pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds.
But after snapping a 16-game road losing streak Wednesday night at Philadelphia, the Magic were jolted back to reality. Until Miami coach Eric Spoelstra cleared his bench in the closing minutes, the Heat were on pace to become the first team to shoot better than 60 percent against the Magic this season.
Arron Afflalo missed his fourth consecutive game with a sprained left ankle. His absence was most noticeable when it came to 3-point shooting, where the Magic were only 4 of 18.
Forward Adonis Thomas and center Dewayne Dedmon, both of whom were signed to 10-day contracts earlier in the week, made their debuts in the fourth quarter. Dedmon had a three-point play and two rebounds, while Thomas hit one of two shots.
THE TURNING POINT
A 17-9 run by the Heat in the second quarter gave them their first double-digit lead at 58-48. Eight of those points came from Greg Oden.
THE DIFFERENCE MAKER
Wade, who went into the night averaging 27.8 points a game for his career against the Magic, led the Heat with 24 on 10-of-14 shooting.
STAT OF THE GAME
After going an uncharacteristic 5 of 13 from the floor in the Heat's most recent meeting with the Magic the night of Jan. 4 in Orlando, James made eight of his 12 shots.
