MINNEAPOLIS -- A grand slam can cure many ills. Heck, even a single would provide some relief.
Instead, Jim Thome and Justin Morneau both whiffed with the bases packed and two outs in separate innings, leading to more than half of the 11 runners the Minnesota Twins left on base in a sloppy 10-5 loss to the Kansas City Royals in the series finale on Sunday.
