MINNEAPOLIS – The Minnesota Lynx have announced that they will visit the White House on Tuesday, Sept. 18 to meet President Barack Obama in recognition of their 2011 WNBA title. The President will not only honor the team's 2011 season; he'll also applaud its work with health and wellness programs like WNBA FIT and Breast Health Awareness initiatives.

It's been 11 months since the Lynx won the WNBA title, capping a franchise record 27-win season. Their 7.9 points per game differential on the year was the fifth-largest for a team in a single season in league history. This year, with five games remaining, the Lynx have accrued a 24-5 record. If they win out, they'll finish the year with 29 wins and set yet another franchise record. They currently have an 11.4 point average win differential, a marked improvement upon last year's number.

The Lynx play just one remaining home game, on Sept. 17 against Indiana. They first face Indiana on the road on Friday, and then finish the season with three road games against Los Angeles (Sept. 20), Phoenix (Sept. 21) and San Antonio (Sept. 23).
