The Minnesota Lynx have hired former San Antonio Stars assistant coach James Wade to join head coach Cheryl Reeve's staff in the same role, the team announced Thursday morning.
Wade was first hired by the Stars as an intern in 2012, before becoming an assistant coach in 2013.
“He quickly emerged as the top candidate for this position because of his array of experiences as a player in Europe for 13 years as well as a coach in the WNBA for the San Antonio Stars for the last four seasons," Reeve said in a statement.
A dual citizen of France and the United States, Wade played professional across Europe for more than a decade before returning to the U.S. to coach.
