Love gets celebrity haircut for a good cause

Last season, Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love's massive beard became a thing. How long was he going to let it grow? How hot does it get? Was it a superstituion? Seriously, when was he shaving?

Now, it's Love's lack of hair that has people talking. On Wednesday, as part of his “Spreadlove” community outreach program, Love tweeted a YouTube video of Arizona Cardinals receiver and Twin Cities native Larry Fitzgerald acting as barber and shaving his head. The beard remains, but when Love rejoins the Timberwolves on Saturday, he'll be blindingly bald.

Fitzgerald and Love partnered to raise money for breast cancer awareness, and they've pledged to donate 25 cents for every Twitter retweet and Facebook like or share of the video for the rest of the month, up to a total of $250,000. The money will go to two charities: Bright Pink and the American Cancer Society/Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Earlier this year, Love's friend Betty Goldie was diagnosed with breast cancer, and Fitzgerald lost his mother, Carol, to breast cancer in 2003.

"This is a special campaign that is particularly close to my heart," Love said in a release. "As an active member of the social media community, my hope is that Spreadlove will reach millions and encourage as many people as possible to support the cause. It just takes one click."

So watch the video and share it. Seriously. Aside from whatever good karma it gets you, you'll also get a glimpse at Love's (pink accented) hand cast and some commentary from Fitzgerald on the lumpy nature of the power forward's head. Totally worth it.
