Lightning will take on Canadiens in first round of playoffs


TAMPA, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Lightning and Montreal Canadiens will meet in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The matchup was set Wednesday night, with the Pittsburgh Penguins' 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings at CONSOL Energy Center. Home ice advantage and a schedule for the best-of-seven series will be determined at a later time. After Wednesday, the Canadiens had 98 points to the Lightning's 95 with two regular-season games left for them.

Nov. 12: Tampa Bay 2, Montreal 1 (shootout)
Dec. 28: Montreal 2, Tampa Bay 1 (shootout)
Feb. 1: Tampa Bay 2, Montreal 1 OT
April 1: Tampa Bay 3, Montreal 1
