Lightning sign Slater Koekkoek to 3-year deal

TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Lightning signed 2012 first-round pick Slater Koekkoek to a standard three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Wednesday.
Koekkoek, a Manotik, Ontario, native, played in 42 games in the Ontario Hockey League this season and has appeared in 133 career OHL games with the Peterborough Petes and Windsor Spitfires, earning 18 goals and 70 points.
Koekkoek, 6-foot-2, 186 pounds, was the 10th overall pick in last summer's draft in Pittsburgh.
