The Lightning, who have lost four straight, recalled Richard Panik from the Syracuse Crunch, general manager Steve Yzerman announced Monday.
The team also placed forward Ryan Malone on injured reserve. Malone, who has four goals and an assist this season, suffered a lower body injury before Sunday's game against the Rangers.
Panik, 22, was the Lightning's second-round pick in the 2009 draft and scored 21 goals in 43 games for the Crunch this season, including six power play goals.
