Texas right-hander Colby Lewis made his 2013 debut Thursday night, pitching two innings in a Triple A game for Round Rock.
Lewis was supposed to throw three innings or around 45 pitches, but needed 41 pitches to get through the first two innings in the game at Las Vegas.
Lewis, who is rehabbing from flexor tendon surgery, allowed three earned runs in two innings. All three of the runs came in the second inning. Lewis surrendered four hits, struck out two, walked two and also threw a wild pitch. He threw 23 strikes.
The plan for Lewis is to make another start Tuesday for Round Rock in Tucson. He’s slated to throw four innings or around 60 pitches in that game
