Let Faith Arise wins Adoration Stakes

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) Let Faith Arise held on to win the $100,000 Adoration Stakes for fillies and mares by a neck at Santa Anita on Sunday.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Let Faith Arise ran 1 1/16 miles in 1:43.41 and paid $3, $2.40 and $2.10 as the heavy 3-5 favorite.

Yahilwa returned $9.80 and $6.80, while 100-1 shot Irish Presence was another 8 3/4 lengths back in third and paid $12 to show.

Eblouissante, a half-sister to superstar mare Zenyatta, finished last in the field of nine.

The victory, worth $60,000, increased Let Faith Arise's career earnings to $470,240, with six wins in 12 starts for Hall of Fame trainer Jerry Hollendorfer.

''She did everything she was supposed to do,'' Nakatani said. ''She relaxed very well and she ran a great race.''
