Miami Heat star LeBron James was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for his performance in games played Monday, Nov. 5, through Sunday. It marks the 38th time James has won the award, the most in NBA history.
During a span in which the Heat went 3-1, James averaged 21 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, including a 23-point performance in a win against the Suns and two near-triple-doubles.
The reigning MVP had 20 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in a victory against Brooklyn on Wednesday and followed that up with 21-point, 11-rebound and nine-assist effort in Thursday's win in Atlanta.
It's the first time James won the award this season. Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings had the honor for the season's first week. James won the award six times in 2011-12.
